Losers Can’t Wait for a Holiday or Weekend

What was your holiday like?  Was it a good rest?  Did you eat and get your fill?  I like the days off, but dread them.  Nothing beats being on a roll.  Nothing beats success and that feeling of accomplishment you get when you are doing what you were made to do.

We just came off a long holiday week.  Christmas, New Year’s and two family birthdays to add!  It was good down time, but it interrupted a great roll my business was on.  Now it is back to work.  I couldn’t wait to get back into action.

Losers can’t stand what they are doing so they live for weekends, holidays and any break from responsibility.  They dread the last day before it ends and force everyone around them to listen to their complaints.  They hate their jobs, but don’t have the guts to quit and find something better.

Leaders can’t resist the action.  They love what they do.  A holiday or weekend slows their momentum.

I remember reading a story by Seth Godin about a resort he was staying at.  He loves to write and was compiling some new thoughts in the lobby.  A woman walked by with her guy and made the remark (out loud for Seth to hear):  “Look at that poor man!  He comes to a resort and all he can do is work.” Seth reportedly glanced up and smiled, then remarked that the poor one was the person who works 51 weeks at a job they hate, then has to go to a resort to get away from it…only to return seven days later.

When it comes to holidays, when do you start to dread the end?  Do you count the days remaining with anxiousness about getting enough rest?  Do you dread Sundays or the last day of vacation because now you have to “get back to the grind?”

Stop dreading, whining and making everyone else miserable.  Find what you like to do and DO IT!
