They’re Not Gonna Take It!

Bank of America has changed it’s mind…and policy!  They have rescinded their policy of charging  loyal customers for debit card usage.

Why did they change? Simple:  their customers are angry; and they aren’t going to take it any more.

From the summer of Netflix’ flip-flops, to Occupy (name your city), to the big banks’ failed plans to penalize their customers with higher fees, consumers have learned to Tweet, FB, Yelp and text companies to their knees.

Why not?  It’s the latest trend.

Wasn’t the “Arab Spring” partially inspired by social media complaints and connections? When will the “powers-that-be” learn they can’t just issue policies and expect their “followers” to simply take it?

Like the Twisted Sister song, consumers everywhere have had enough and are screaming: “We’re not gonna take it!”

Credit unions have benefited from the BOA policy debacle with some of the greatest increases in membership.  How can your business benefit from the incompetency or blind eye your competitors are turning toward their “loyal” customers?

What can you and your business do to capitalize on the trend/movement to communicate through social media? What can you do to make your business, products or services more accountable to your newly empowered customers?

Are they going to “take it” anymore?
